Course overview

What is the ChatGPT & Claude for Business Teams course?

ChatGPT & Claude for Business Teams is a two-day, instructor-led Technovids workshop for non-technical professionals in HR, marketing, sales, finance, operations and management. Participants learn to brief ChatGPT and Claude clearly, draft and summarise work documents, structure research, and check every output before it is used. The course also covers what information must stay out of AI tools, so a team adopts one shared, reviewable way of working instead of individual trial and error.

Is this the right course for you or your team?

Who it is for

  • Professionals who write, research, analyse, plan or communicate as a core part of the job
  • Teams already trying ChatGPT or Claude informally who now need a consistent, reviewable method
  • Managers who want a shared baseline before approving wider AI use in their function

Situations it fits

  • Your organisation has rolled out an approved ChatGPT or Claude workspace, but people have not been shown how to use it well
  • AI use is happening anyway, with uneven quality and no agreed rules on what can be shared
  • A function wants to standardise a few recurring tasks before scaling AI use further

Prerequisites

  • Basic computer literacy and everyday use of email, documents and spreadsheets
  • A laptop with a current browser and access to the AI accounts your organisation approves for the session
  • No coding, data science or prior AI experience

When a different course fits better

This is a business-user course. If the goal is to build software, automate across systems or design AI applications, a more technical programme will fit better.

Workplace tasks

The business problems this course addresses

The course is built around ordinary workplace tasks where AI can save effort — and where an unchecked output can cause real problems.

Workplace tasks, the usual problem, and what the course practises
TaskThe usual problemWhat participants practise
First draftsEmails, reports and proposals start from a blank page and take longer than they should.Brief the tool with purpose, audience and constraints, then edit the draft until it says what the author means.
Long documentsPolicies, reports and email threads get skimmed rather than read.Summarise with uncertainty kept visible, and check the summary against the source before relying on it.
Desk researchBackground research is slow, scattered and hard to trust.Break the question into parts, let AI propose a structure, and verify decision-critical facts at primary sources.
Meeting follow-upDecisions and owners get lost between the call and the follow-up email.Turn notes into decisions, owners and next steps — with the meeting owner confirming them.
Report narrativeThe numbers are ready, but the commentary that explains them is not.Draft the narrative from figures a person has already checked, without letting the tool invent causes.
Team consistencyEveryone uses AI differently, and nobody reviews what goes out.Agree a small set of tested team prompts and a review step for anything shared outside the team.
Learning outcomes

What participants will be able to do

Practise the skills below through course exercises, then check the results and explain how you would apply them to your work.

  1. Give AI clearer instructions

Turn a vague request into a reusable prompt with context, constraints, examples and an explicit output format.

  2. Improve everyday writing

Draft and revise emails, reports, summaries and meeting material without losing the author’s intent or voice.

  3. Research with a verification plan

Use AI to structure questions, compare information and surface gaps — then verify important claims against primary sources.

  4. Review outputs critically

Recognise unsupported statements, missing context and false confidence before an AI-assisted output is shared or used.

  5. Handle work data more safely

Recognise what should not be pasted into a tool, and follow the organisation’s approved accounts, policies and review process.

  6. Build role-specific workflows

Convert a recurring task into a simple sequence the team can test, document and improve after the workshop.

Role-based use cases

How each team applies it to real work

The method is the same for every function; the examples change. For each role, the workshop separates what AI can help with from what a person must still check.

  • HR & L&D

    Recurring task
Job descriptions, policy explainers, training outlines and employee FAQs.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Produces a structured first draft from the role requirements or policy text, and rewrites it for different employee groups.
    A person must review
Legal and policy accuracy, inclusive language, and anything that touches an individual employee’s personal data.
  • Marketing & communications

    Recurring task
Campaign briefs, content variations, announcement drafts and research summaries.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Generates angles and variations against a brief, adapts copy for each channel and condenses background reading.
    A person must review
Brand voice, every factual or product claim, disclosure requirements and originality.
  • Sales & customer teams

    Recurring task
Account research, meeting preparation, proposal structure and follow-up emails.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Organises publicly available account information, suggests discovery questions and drafts follow-ups from the rep’s notes.
    A person must review
Anything said about the client, pricing and commitments — and whether client information was allowed in the tool at all.
  • Finance & operations

    Recurring task
Variance commentary, process notes, SOP first drafts and management-report narrative.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Explains figures a person has already verified in plain language, and turns rough process notes into a structured SOP draft.
    A person must review
Every number and calculation, the stated reason for a variance, and fit with internal controls.
  • Managers & leaders

    Recurring task
Decision briefs, meeting synthesis, planning questions and option comparisons.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Lays out options, assumptions and counter-arguments, and condenses meeting notes into decisions and owners.
    A person must review
The decision itself, how trade-offs are weighed, and how the conclusion is communicated to the team.
  • Business analysts

    Recurring task
Requirement clarification, document comparison, issue framing and analysis summaries.
    How ChatGPT or Claude helps
Compares document versions, drafts clarifying questions for stakeholders and structures findings into a readable summary.
    A person must review
Traceability to the source requirement, completeness, and any conclusion drawn from data the tool has not seen.
Tools and platforms

The AI assistants used in the workshop

The workshop uses both assistants so participants learn a method that carries across tools, rather than the buttons of one product.

  • ChatGPT

    by OpenAI

Used throughout for prompt design, drafting and rewriting, and structured outputs.

    • Briefing with context, constraints and an output format
    • Drafting and rewriting for different audiences
    • Tables, checklists and other structured outputs
  • Claude

    by Anthropic

Used alongside ChatGPT for longer material, careful rewriting and side-by-side comparison.

    • Summarising longer documents participants supply
    • Revising tone and structure without losing meaning
    • Comparing answers to the same task across both tools

Selected exercises are run in both tools so participants can see where outputs differ — and why the review step matters whichever assistant is used.

Research in context

What the evidence says about AI at work

Two experiments help explain why this workshop pairs useful AI tasks with a review routine. The gains were measured on specific writing and consulting assignments—not across every employee’s job or every AI model.

Noy & Zhang · Science · 2023

Professional writing with ChatGPT

Randomised online experiment · 453 college-educated professionals · occupation-specific writing tasks

  • 40%less time on the assigned writing tasks
  • 18%higher independently rated output quality

The largest quality gains went to participants whose first, unassisted task received lower scores. That suggests AI can help with a first draft or structure, not that it replaces domain knowledge.

Important limit: The 20–30-minute tasks did not require company-specific context, and the researchers did not test factual accuracy. Do not apply these percentages to every workplace document.

Harvard Business School & BCG · 2023

Consulting tasks and the “jagged frontier”

Preregistered field experiment · 758 BCG consultants · GPT-4-assisted and unassisted groups

  • 25.1%faster on tasks within AI’s capability frontier
  • 12.2%more tasks completedWithin-frontier tasks
  • >40%higher-rated qualityWithin-frontier tasks

The useful question is not “Can AI do consulting?” but “Which parts of this task can this model do reliably, and which need a person?”

Important limit: On a task selected outside the model’s capability frontier, AI users were 19 percentage points less likely to reach the correct solution. Faster work is not necessarily better work.

Hands-on practice

Exercises and practical outputs

Every module follows the same rhythm. Participants work on representative, non-sensitive workplace examples, and the instructor reviews the work with them rather than only demonstrating.

How every module runs

  1. Learn

A short instructor-led explanation and live demonstration of one technique.

  2. Practise

Participants apply it to representative, non-sensitive work examples in the approved tools.

  3. Review

Outputs are checked with the instructor for accuracy, completeness, tone and data handling.

  4. Apply

Each participant adapts the technique to a recurring task from their own role.

  1. Module 01

Exercise 1: Rewrite a weak prompt

Start from a vague request such as “summarise this report”. Add context, audience, constraints and an output format, then compare the two responses.

Practice output A before-and-after prompt pair with notes on what changed the result.

  2. Module 02

Exercise 2: Write for two audiences

Take one representative update and brief the tool to produce a version for leadership and a version for frontline staff.

Practice output Two drafts, edited by the participant, with the tone and detail choices explained.

  3. Module 03

Exercise 3: Plan research and verification

Break a business question into sub-questions, use AI to propose a structure, and mark which facts must be checked at a primary source.

Practice output A research outline with a verification note against each decision-critical claim.

  4. Module 03

Exercise 4: Review an AI answer for unsupported claims

Examine a supplied AI response and highlight statements that are unsupported, outdated or overconfident, then decide what to do with each.

Practice output An annotated response and a short list of checks to repeat on future outputs.

  5. Module 04

Exercise 5: Document a repeatable workflow

Choose one recurring task from your role and write down the steps, the prompts, the inputs that are allowed and the review point.

Practice output A one-page workflow a colleague could follow and test.

  6. Module 04

Exercise 6: Start a team prompt playbook

Collect the prompts that worked during the workshop, name them, and note when to use each one and who reviews its output.

Practice output A starter playbook the team can keep testing and maintaining.

Exercises use representative, non-sensitive examples. Outputs are produced during the workshop for practice and review; anything participants keep is their own working material.

Safe AI use

Verification, data handling and human judgement

Safe use is taught as working practice, not a closing slide. These are the rules participants apply in every exercise.

Check the current product documentation and your organisation’s data-handling rules before applying these workflows.

  1. Use approved accounts only

Work only in the ChatGPT or Claude workspaces your organisation has approved. Consumer and business plans handle data differently, and your IT or information-security team decides which apply.

  2. Keep confidential and personal information out

Do not paste client data, employee records, unpublished financials, credentials or anything under NDA into a tool that is not approved for it. Personal data also carries obligations under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — your legal or compliance team sets the rules. Workshop exercises use representative, non-sensitive material.

  3. Expect hallucinations, and verify

Both assistants can produce fluent statements that are wrong, including invented sources and figures. Check decision-critical facts, numbers and citations against primary sources before use.

  4. Watch for bias; keep human judgement

Outputs can carry bias in wording, assumptions and examples. Review anything that affects people — hiring, performance, customers — with particular care.

  5. A person owns the final decision

AI can draft and suggest. A named person remains accountable for anything that is sent, published or decided.

  6. Check current vendor policies

Features, data controls and usage terms change. Review the current policies for the plans you use before rollout, and again when they change.

Course FAQs

Common questions before planning this course

Answers about the published course. The written proposal records any agreed customisation, delivery details and commercials.

Do participants need coding or technical experience?

No. The course is designed for business professionals and needs only basic computer literacy, a laptop with a current browser and access to the AI tools agreed for the session.

How is this different from a prompt engineering course?

This course covers everyday business use of ChatGPT and Claude — writing, research, meetings, review and safe use — for non-technical teams. A prompt engineering course goes deeper into structured, repeatable prompting and suits people who already use these tools confidently.

Can the course be customised for our company or industry?

Yes. The agenda can be adapted to the roles, recurring tasks, terminology and risk constraints discussed during the training-needs discussion. Custom examples should use non-sensitive or properly approved material.

Do we need paid ChatGPT or Claude accounts?

The accounts, plans and features used are agreed with your organisation before delivery. Business plans and consumer plans handle data differently, so your IT or information-security team should decide which accounts participants use. The written proposal states whether any licences are part of the scope.

Is this available as live online training?

Yes. Technovids delivers the course onsite in India or as private live online training. Both formats include guided practice and instructor review.

What is the recommended group size?

The published format is designed for 15–25 participants. If your group is larger or needs separate role tracks, the cohort plan is agreed in the proposal.

How should participants handle confidential company data?

Participants should not enter confidential, personal or client information into an unapproved AI tool. Exercises use supplied or representative non-sensitive content, and your organisation remains responsible for its tool, data and review policies.

Do participants receive a certificate?

If your organisation needs completion certificates, raise it during the training-needs discussion. Whether certificates are included is confirmed in the written proposal.

How is the course priced?

Pricing is provided in a custom proposal because it depends on delivery format, location, cohort plan and the amount of customisation. No payment is taken through this page.
